Scotch whisky means something different to everyone: it’s time to tell the world what whisky means to you…
For over five centuries, Scotch whisky has drawn people together and that rich history, heritage, and culture, means that every bottle holds the promise of new experience and discovery for experts and newcomers alike…
We’re reaching out to the Scotch community and asking fans to share the stories of the bottles that mean the most to them...
What is ‘The Bottle I Never Opened’?
‘The Bottle I Never Opened’ is a call for Scotch drinkers everywhere to share the unique story of a bottle they never opened - and why that bottle holds a special place in their heart.
Of course, there’s no single reason why someone might keep a bottle of Scotch unopened. Perhaps the bottle holds a prized place in a growing whisky collection, perhaps it commemorates an unforgettable date or moment in history... or perhaps you just really like the label! Whatever your relationship with that special bottle, now is your opportunity to tell the world about it.
Your contribution won’t just connect you to a global network of fellow Scotch lovers. We’ll be reviewing the stories and selecting the best for an exclusive prize: a two night stay at the luxurious Balmoral Hotel.
How Do I Enter?
Find a comfortable spot, record a short, one-minute video showing us your unopened bottle of Scotch and explaining its story - and then upload the video to Facebook, Instagram, or Youtube with the hashtag #TheBottleINeverOpened. We’ll listen to your #TheBottleINeverOpened story and select our favourite to win a trip to Edinburgh. The closing date is 17th March 2019.
Get inspired by taking a look at the stories we’ve gathered from the Scotch Whisky Industry so far. More will be added each day so keep checking back, or just follow us on Instagram to see the stories first.
