This July we’re taking a look at some of the most well-known whisky cocktails out there! Each week we will have a cocktail to fit with one of the five Scottish whisky producing regions. So stay tuned for our Friday Night Cocktails and give them a try yourself!
Campbeltown whiskies are often known to have gentle vanilla characteristics, a nice contrast to the bitters in this cocktail!
Whisky Sour
Ingredients
1 shot lemon juice
1/2 shot sugar syrup
2 dashes Angostura bitters
2 shots Campbeltown Scotch whisky
1/2 fresh egg white
Orange slices and cherries to garnish
Recipe
Gather all the ingredients together.
Grab a mixing glass and fill it up with ice, before pouring in the whisky, syrup, bitters, lemon juice & egg whites.
Shake hard for around 30 seconds (you’re looking to froth up the egg whites).
Find yourself a chilled cocktail glass, fill it with ice and strain the liquid into it.
To serve, garnish with your maraschino cherries and oranges – enjoy!
*You can of course use whiskies from any of the other fours whisky producing regions – Lowland, Highland, Speyside & Islay.
