Friday Night Cocktails, Highlands – Rob Roy

This July we’re taking a look at some of the most well-known whisky cocktails out there! Each week we will have a cocktail to fit with one of the five Scottish whisky producing regions. So stay tuned for our Friday Night Cocktails and give them a try yourself!

Highland whiskies have a variety of different characteristics, from floral notes to salty, coastal flavours.

Rob Roy (Scotch Manhattan)

1 shot sweet vermouth

2 dashes Angostura bitters

2 shots Highland Scotch whisky

Maraschino cherry (to garnish)

Gather all the ingredients together.

Grab a mixing glass and fill it up with ice, before pouring in the whisky, vermouth and bitters.

Stir together well for around 20 seconds.

Find yourself a chilled cocktail glass and strain the liquid into it.

To serve, garnish with your maraschino cherry and enjoy!

Slàinte Mhath!

*You can of course use whiskies from any of the other fours whisky producing regions – Lowland, Speyside, Campbeltown & Islay.
