Have a pun-tastic #Whiskmas!

Our team have been getting creative this festive season and have come up with Christmas song themed puns to go with our December whiskies of the month!

Take a look at what they have come up with below, and why not try it out for yourself! Let us know if you come up with any gooduns’!

All of these whiskies are available by the dram in our McIntyre Bar, Amber Bar and by the bottle in our onsite and online whisky shop (UK delivery only).

Pssst – the last posting date for 2019 is 20th December for delivery before Christmas!

Lowlands

“Bladnoch-ing around the Christmas Tree”

The Lowland‘s Bladnoch Samsara meets Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ around the Christmas Tree.

The Samsara expression is matured in a combination of bourbon and Californian Red Wine casks so it’s sweet with vanilla and coconut alongside some spicy tones and a rich fruitiness.

Highlands

“And a partridge in a Port Ruighe (port-tree)”

Our take on the classic Christmas carol 12 days of Christmas with the Talikser’s port finished expression from the Highlands.

Talisker is famous for being smoky and peppery but the port barrels add an extra dimension of rich sweetness. The perfect winter warmer!

Speyside

“We wish you a Moray Christmas”

And now for another classic Christmas carol, We Wish you a Merry Christmas, thanks to the Glen Moray distillery in Speyside!

The 18-year-old expression has notes of toffee butter, heather honey, and oak spice.

Campbeltown

“Santa Claus is coming to (Campbel-)Town”

Campbeltown’s Glen Scotia Victoriana once again meets Bing Crosby’s Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Glen Scotia Victoriana is cask strength so it’s very high in alcohol content, which means it has heightened aromas of vanilla, sea spray, and a hint of smoke.

Islay

“The First (Ardbeg) An Oa-el, the angels did say”

Our version of The First Noel, with a cameo appearance of Ardbeg An Oa from Islay.

Ardbeg An Oa is matured in a combination of new American Oak barrels, Bourbon casks, and Pedro-Ximinez casks so you get lots of sweetness underneath a big punchy peated experience.

Blended

“Glory to the Wemyss (weems) Spice King”

Hark the Herald Angels Sing meets the Blended Malt from the Wemyss family.

Spice King is known for its sweet spicy character with notes of orange marmalade, cinnamon, toasted oat and ginger biscuits.

Liqueur

“I’ll have a Dramb(l)uie Christmas without you”

Hopefully you won’t be having a Blue Christmas like Elvis with a bottle of Drambuie liqueur!

Drambuie is a great winter warmer thanks to it being spicy, sweet and orange-y.

Luxury

“I wish it could be Christmas every Spey”

The Speyside distillery gets a play on the Wizzard classic I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday.

The Spey Royal Choice has light toffee and butterscotch notes alongside a gentle fruitiness.

We’d love to hear your whisky and Christmas song puns – let us know in the comments below!

Have a lovely festive season and Slàinte Mhath!
