It’s that time of year when everyone’s looking for the perfect collection of gifts for loved ones, and if you’re buying for a whisky fan, there’s always a great selection of Scotch whiskies you can choose from that they’ve probably been dropping hints about all year! But what about those who you’re not so sure about? Maybe they’re not strictly a fan of whisky (yet!) but they love what it represents, or the heritage and history behind it.
We asked our Retail Team to put together a few ideas for stocking fillers and gifts to give you some ideas – some have a certain whisky influence, others are perfect for your loved one’s inner Highlander. Whatever their tastes, you’re bound to find something that suits them perfectly.
Paula: Highland Reed Diffusers
These reed diffusers are made from real Highland whisky and have a gorgeous aroma. They’re fragrant but not overpowering, and look stylish too – ideal if you’re buying for someone who is channelling their inner interior designer!
Sunil: Whisky Cask Frame
I love the heritage behind these whisky cask frames: they’re made from genuine recycled oak casks that once matured Scotland’s favourite product, now they’ll hold treasured memories forever (editor’s note: why not take a photo from your Whisky Experience tour and keep it as a lasting reminder?).
Each frame comes with a serial number that you can use to look up the origin of the cask your frame is made from.
Rob: Stag keychain and tartan magnet
These are the very definition of stocking fillers! They’re ideal, dainty little gifts for the person in your life who just loves all things Scottish, without going too OTT. Plus, what’s more iconically Scottish than the famous stag – think Monarch of the Glen and the rolling Highlands.
Jen: Thistle jewellery
The variety of this jewellery range is what I love most. The pin, the cufflinks and the necklace are beautiful and understated, giving a Scottish thistle twist to an outfit. They also come in a beautiful purple gift bag – add some bespoke gift-wrap from the Scotch Whisky Experience, and that’s one present ticked off your list!
Kirsten: Tartan notebooks
These tartan notebooks come in lots of different styles and colours, so you’ll find one that suits the ‘clan’ of the person you’re buying for. The smaller one is a perfect quirky whisky tasting journal (it comes with its own wee pencil so you’re never caught without one!) and the larger version is a great size to keep in your bag. You’ll be carrying a piece of Scotland wherever you go!
Find these and plenty more gift ideas in our onsite Scotch Whisky Shop – the team love recommending unique and quirky presents, whatever your budget or taste, and we’ll even gift-wrap your goodies for you!
